Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at an Olympic contest. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics coach who later became her coach later in life she discovered her when she was six. Her first competition was in the national junior championships which she was 13th place in the year 1969. In 1970, Comaneci took home the title. At her first international event in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. At her first competition as a senior in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning four gold and one silver medal. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first female to do the backward double salto in an unmounting from uneven parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career as an entertainment professional during her teenage years performing as an ice skating duo along with their sibling Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry during her teenage year. She began her career as model skater with her twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around named Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating performance.
